Scott E. Phillips, age 48, Tellico Plains repaired his last car and made his last wrecker call on July 11, 2019 at UT Medical Center while surrounded by his loving wife and family.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Harold and Roxie Powers Phillips and Edward Gray and Annette Ford Atchley; father-in-law, Harlan Martin; cousin, Chris Phillips; uncles, Steve Phillips, Edward Grey Atchley Jr. and Ed White.
Scott was a graduate of Tellico Plains High School the “Class of 1989”. He worked in the family business at Phillips Wrecker Service and Garage for over 30 years, serving the Town of Tellico Plains and surrounding areas. Scott could be found most every day at the garage and running the wrecker calls all hours of nights. He enjoyed camping with his family, fishing with Bubba and spending time with those he loved. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Scott is survived by his loving and faithful wife, Joyce Martin Phillips; son, Scott “Bubba” E. Phillips Jr.; daughter and son-in-law, Chasity and Travis Hutchison; parents, Gene and Carolyn Atchley Phillips all of Tellico Plains; sisters, Ginger and Mindy Phillips; brother, Charlie Phillips and girlfriend, Connie Dees; special family friends Eddie, Erie and Samantha Manning; grandchildren, Ada and Abram Hutchison; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Kenneth and Brenda Watson; aunts and uncles, Ruth White, Charlotte Phillips, Jimmy and Tootie Atchley, Bobby and Mary Lu Atchley and Phyllis Atchley; several cousins, nieces and nephews and many many beloved friends.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Saturday, July 13, 2019 at Myers Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 7:00 p.m. in Myers Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dwayne Lee, Rev. Kenneth Watson and Rev. B.J. Wall officiating. Family and friends will assemble at 1:00 p.m., Sunday, July 14 at Unicoi Cemetery for the committal service. The family has requested everyone to please dress casual for the burial.
In lieu of flowers the family has requested memorials be made to Joyce Phillips, PO Box 692, Tellico Plains, TN 37385.
