Shirley E. Graves

Shirley E. Graves, age 84, of Tellico Plains, went to be with Jesus on Friday, June 16, 2023 peacefully with her family by her side.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Greeley and Margaret Graves; sisters, Maggie Hawk, Lizzie Burgess, Ruby McJunkin and Ola Plemons; brothers, Frank, Johnny and Robert Graves; and grandson, Brian Goins.

Shirley was a hard worker and took pride in all she did. A couple of the jobs she loved the most was working as a caregiver after obtaining her CNA and later working for the U.S. Forest Service at the Tellico Ranger Station. She enjoyed many activities in her spare time including, hunting, fishing, quilting, farming and gardening. All her family and friends will miss her dearly and cherish the memories they made.

She is survived by her children and their spouses, Ricky and Vanessa Patterson, Bonnie and Larry Jones and Troy “Sonny” and Katie Goins; grandchildren, Creshia Gooche, Kristy Yearwood, Dakota Patterson, Josh Jones and Derek Goins; great-grandchildren Danni Gooche, Wesson Patterson, Colton Jones, Kallie Jones, and Missouri Watson; several nieces and nephews; and many special friends.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 20, 2023 at Myers Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday in the chapel with Bro. Hunter Debety officiating. Interment will follow the service at Friends of Rafter Church Cemetery.
