"Shorty" Edward Taylor

“Shorty” Edward Taylor, age 75, of Tellico Plains, TN went to be with his heavenly family on Monday, May 27, 2019 at his residence surrounded by his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents Imogene and Buster Taylor; brother, Larry Taylor; infant brother, Dewayne Taylor and sister, Bettye Hyatt.

He is survived by his wife of almost 43 years, Veronica Taylor of Tellico Plains; daughters, Niki Ann Taylor of Tellico Plains, and Stephanie Johnston of Maryville, TN; grandchildren, Allison, Josh, Sarah and Christopher Johnston all of Maryville, TN; great-grandchildren, Nathan Dobbs and Leddy Johnston both of Maryville, TN; nieces and nephews, Kim Garrett, Cheryl May, Paul Hyatt and Terry Hyatt.

Shorty was born and raised in the Epperson Community, he later moved to Tellico Plains with his wife Veronica and 2 daughters. He was a hardworking man who loved his family. He worked for many years for West brothers logging, the county highway department and the high school.

A graveside memorial service will be held Saturday, June 1, 2019 at 11 a.m. at Epperson Cemetery with Rev. Johnny Stewart officiating.
