Stephen "Steve" Dwayne Rogers

Stephen “Steve” Dwayne Rogers, age 76, of Tellico Plains, TN passed away peacefully Monday, January 30, 2023.

He was born and raised in Tellico Plains and was a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church. Steve was always willing to serve his community in many ways. He served on several boards, which include Monroe County Board of Education and Fort Loudoun Board of Directors. He enjoyed working on the farm and spending as much time as he could with his grandson, Bo.

Steve is preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Cora Rogers; brother, James Rogers, Jr; and sisters, Wanda Meredith and Helen Stephens.

He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Joan Rogers; daughter, Rebecca Rogers; grandson (Steve’s pride and joy), Bo Elliott; brother and sister-in-law, Roy and Connie Rogers; brothers-in-law, Herman Meredith and Ross Stephens; several nieces and nephews and many friends he held dear to his heart.

A celebration of life service will be held at 3p.m. on Saturday, February 25, 2023 at Shady Grove Baptist Church with Rev. B.J. Wall officiating.
