Tine Hawkins

October 26, 1938 — April 20, 2020

Eva Ernestine Beaver Hawkins, age 81, passed away and entered into the presence of the Lord on Monday, April 20, 2020.

“Tine” was born October 26, 1938 in Tellico Plains, TN where she lived all of her life and graduated from Tellico Plains High School in 1957.  She was faithfully married to her husband, Harold Preston Hawkins, Jr. and they were blessed with three children. She was “Nana” to five grandchildren and two great grandchildren. She has left a beautiful legacy of love to her family and all who knew her.

Tine was a devoted wife and mother and together she and Harold, Jr. raised their family with love and respect and to know the Lord. She was an active member of First United Methodist Church of Tellico Plains where she served as treasurer, played the organ for church services for over 50 years and was a member of United Methodist Women. Tine was known for her wonderful cooking and loved cooking for her family and friends and invited anyone into her home with a gracious smile. Besides spending time with her family, she loved going on trips with her sisters and nieces, loved shoes and going to the beach. Tine had a witty personality and loved to laugh. She was caring, kind and took care of everyone in their time of need. Tine has touched so many lives and will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to know her.

She was preceded in death by her father, Ernest Beaver; her mother, Hazel Beaver Debety and step-father, Arville Debety; sisters, Joyceline Feezell and Betsy Millsaps.

She is survived by her husband, Harold Hawkins, Jr.; her three children, Preston (Micki) Hawkins, Alan (Vicki) Hawkins and Patrick Hawkins (fiancé April White); five grandchildren, Brittany Hawkins, Heath (Bailey) Hawkins, Taylor (Elissa) Hawkins, Emily Hawkins and Eric Hawkins; two great grandchildren, Harper Hawkins and Henley Moore; loving sisters, Alma Taylor, Joyce Plemons, Doris Glandon, Ina Isbill, Wanda Kirkland and several nieces and nephews.

Friends may visit from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 22, 2020 at Myers Funeral Home. The funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, April 23 at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Bill Clark officiating. Committal service to follow at City Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to First United Methodist Church of Tellico Plains, 215 Southard Street, Tellico Plains, TN 37385.
