Toney Newton (Lightnin) Lynn, age 77 of Tellico Plains, went to his Heavenly Home, Tuesday, September 30, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
He is preceded in death by his parents; Lucille and Onley Lynn; brothers, Clifford Lynn and Wayne Lynn; grandson, Jake Lynn; great-grandsons, Ryker and Easton Rose.
Lightnin was a long-time sawyer at Lynn Lumber and the owner of Lynn Trucking. He found joy in working on his farm and tending to his cows. Lightnin’s greatest source of happiness and love came from the time he spent with his great-grandchildren. He was a great husband, father, papaw, brother, and friend. The many valuable lessons he taught and memories he made with those he loved will be cherished forever.
He is survived by his wife of 57 loving years, Jeana McJunkin Lynn; sons and daughter-in-law, Dean and Julie Lynn, Chris Lynn; daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and Bunion Davis; grandchildren and spouses, T.J. and Mar Lynn, Jacobi Lynn, Marina and John Rose, Ryan and Brittney Davis, Timber and Josh Mauricio, Tessa and Trainer Merrell, Brylee Lynn, Denisha and Andy Winkler, Cody and Emma Murphy; great-grandchildren, Alian, Genesis, Journey, Jaylee, Quentin, Wyatt, Dixie, Fisher, Ryelyn, Cal, Micah, Logan, MayMay, and Harper; sister, Shirley McCarter; brothers and sisters-in-law, Dave and Delores Lynn, Ronnie and Pat Lynn, Ray and Trish Lynn, Darrell Lynn, Scott and Carolyn Lynn; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Sunday, October 5, 2025 at Myers Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow at 7:00 p.m. in the chapel with Rev. Paul Chapman officiating. Family and friends will assemble at 10:00 a.m., Monday, October 6, 2025 at Myers Funeral Home and proceed to Piney Grove Church Cemetery for the 11:00 a.m. committal service. Myers Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
