Vickie Oody Martin, age 58, of Tellico Plains, TN, devoted wife of 40 years to Fred Martin, went home to be with the Lord, Friday, February 9, 2018 at her home while surrounded by her loved ones.
Vickie loved her family and friends and loved to cook and can. She was a talented artist in bead work and her love for Native American culture was displayed in her many beautiful beaded works.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl D. and Violet Franks Oody and baby brother, Mickey Oody.
She is survived by her husband,Fred Martin;daughters and sons-in-law,Felicia and Justin Zagorski and Fonda and Jose' Gonzales-Perez;brother and sister-in-law,Bobby Oody and Billie Jean McMillan; sisters and brothers-in-law, Sandra K. and Darrell Akins and Patti and Tony Russell; step-sisters, Gwen Jenkins and Sandy Hooks; grandchildren,Victoria "Tori" Henson, Porche Cantrell, Heather Soto and Mathew Cantrell; nieces and nephews, Hollie Braley, Jon Tyler Oody and Shawn Thomas; special friends, Bob Sommers, Bruce Hooper and J.R. and Barbara Davis.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, February 17, 2018 at Eleazar Methodist Church, Tellico Plains with Rev. Randall Wright officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. prior to the service
