Willie Baker

Willie Baker, age 46, got the heck out of here and leaped into her angel wings Saturday, January 12, 2019 while surrounded by her loving family. She was a native of Tellico Plains but lived most of her adult life in Knoxville, TN.

She was the 5 ^th sister of 12 children born to Roy and Nancy Baker. A 1991 graduate of Tellico Plains High School, Willie was Lady Bear #25 from 1987 to 1991 playing post and serving as team captain under Coach Tucker. She will be inducted into the Tellico Plains High School Hall of Fame at the end of January.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Nancy Baker and brother, Timmy Baker.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Samantha and Dalton Rinehart;

Sisters, Rebecca Laney, Melissa Roberts, Judy Thomas, Jeanie Baker, Vickie Anderson, Mary Thomas and Shirley Martin; brothers, James “Jimbo”Baker, Eric Baker and Terry Baker; special friends, Carrier Hooper Mobley, Shannon Sell, Darla Carlock and Suzanne Palermo; numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday, January 14 at Myers Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 8:00 p.m. in Myers Funeral Home Chapel.  Family and friends will meet Tuesday, January 15 at 1:00 p.m. at Myers Funeral Home and proceed to Baker’s Cemetery for the 2:00 p.m. committal service. Her sisters and her daughter, Samantha will serve as pallbearers. In lieu of flowers the Baker family has requested memorials to Myers Funeral Home, P O Box 132, Tellico Plains, TN 37385.
