Wilma Jean Carroll Kilby

August 23, 1935 — March 19, 2020

Wilma Jean Carroll Kilby went to meet her Heavenly Father Thursday, March 19, 2020.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Eva Sue Debety Carroll Evans; father, Melvin Carroll; stepparents, Harvey and Geniva Evans; brother and sister-in-law, Ronald Carroll and Beulah Williams; father-in-law and mother-in-law, William Junior and Ethel Gardner Kilby.

She was a graduate of Tellico Plains High School, Ventma Community College (AA), Laverne College (BA) and a Masters in counseling from Laverne University. Wilma Jean was a counselor, educator, social worker and mental health rehabilitation specialist. She has lived in Tennessee, Michigan, Bermuda, Sicily, California and returning to Crossville and Tellico Plains after retirement.

She leaves behind her husband of 62 years, Bill E. Kilby; son and daughter-in-law, Keith and Dana Kilby; granddaughter, Caroline Kilby; sisters and brother-in-law, Wanda Williamson and Jean and Frank Crisp; brother and sister-in-law, Jerald and Margaret Kilby; niece and husband, Linda and Harold Sloan; uncle, Austin Darnes; many other family members of aunts, uncles and cousins; special friend, Ermazo Freeman.

A private funeral service will be held with no formal visitation. Family and friends will assemble Sunday, March 22, 2020 at  2:00 p.m. at Rural Vale Cemetery for a Graveside Service with Rev. Carroll Hamilton officiating.
