Our History
Myers Funeral Home was established in March 1973 by Frank Jr. and Sharon Myers. Frank Myers Jr. was born and raised in Tellico Plains. He joined the US Navy after high school and transferred to the US Marine Corps, where he served as a Corpsman. After service, he attended and graduated from John A. Gupton Mortuary College in Nashville, Tennessee and became a licensed funeral director and embalmer. Frank was recognized for 50 years of service as a licensed funeral director in Tennessee in July 2015.
While attending school and living in Nashville, Frank met Sharon Lee Aldridge and they married in 1966. They have three children: Lee Ann Myers, Frank “Bud” Myers III, and Dana Jo Myers Ryan. Frank moved his wife, Sharon and their children back to his hometown of Tellico Plains to open and operate Myers Funeral Home. Sharon soon obtained her funeral director's license and all three children have followed in their parents' steps and become licensed funeral directors.
